Jamaica in all her glory

E-mail Print PDF

We need to uproot and eradicate every self negating thought out of our minds as Jamaicans. We are a mighty people! Out of one small plot of land called Jamaica we have borne valiant sons and daughters, who made their mark on world cultures; be reminded of our great national heroes and our numerous modern day heroes; our music, our beauty queens, our educators and great thinkers. Indeed Jamaica is more than an island; it is a continent!

We have come of age Jamaicans and no longer need to cower behind our great potential. Our energies are fiery and if not appreciated it consumes us by manifesting in the numerous self-destructive ways which we are now experiencing in the form of crime and violence. In truth, crime and violence is another word for self-rejection which we can solve with a new culture of self and life-affirming values.

This is funny, this woman makes generalisations about Jamaicans and their attitudes to homosexuals - and she's not even Jamaican - she needs to go sit in a corner with her Jafacan accent!

Being gay should be your buisness
Everyman have a right to decide his own destiny... but please don’t encourage the children... or try to put argument to me... the majority is against homosexuality... I’m with the majority but I’m against violence towards any minority groups.

Gay in jamaica
I believe that being gay is like any other sin , so I see it as wrong but I believe no one should try to hurt these people at any time. It is in the bible that it is wrong, so the church is doing what GOD calls them to do. Now the music and government doing what they are doing, is also wrong... but my lady this is the world we live in. I hope one day you find GOD and you change your lifestyle.

Wonderful music!
Sitting here in limbo... nah mon... rural Arizona... remembering Jamaica nights and ska and rock steady and reggae and Blue Hole and the smell of the beaches and the mountains, and always missing Jamaica. Can an American chick whose family called Kingston home for 17 years ever get over her longing for beef patties with a Red Stripe and seeing Stony Hill in the moonlight and hearing the singing Rasta on the way up the hill... these great videos of Bob's music bring back the magic. Jamaica and its people are always in my prayers and in my thoughts. God bless and keep you.

The WORD is ONE and REMAINS the SAME
JAH LIVE! The WORD IS ONE and REMAINS the SAME! "Send my children from the ends of the EARTH". More strength for ALL RASTAFARI PEOPLE! KEEP the FAITH and CONTINUE to praise H.I.M. NOW.” Who shall give HIM praises from the grave? Observe how many different nations all chanting the chants, and remember: "YOU DON'T HAVE TO DREAD TO BE RASTA","FUNCTION OF THE HEART"

MORE STRENGTH JAH PEOPLE! GIVE THANKS FOR BOB MARLEY. THANK YOU LORD FOR THE WAILING WAILERS. THANKS FOR ALL THE PROPHETS, ALSO YOUR MERCY AND GRACE.

BOB, like any other man was not perfect, however, he PERFECTED the TRANSMISSION of the NEW THING - ISRAEL GATHERING in this time. He pointed one and all in the direction of KING David’s Throne. Now, none can say they did not hear the new message.

I would like to make this clear! Bob Marley could not have made such an impact on the world, with out the Wailers! Bob always said you must take care of the BAND MEMBERS because they are very important, they pave the way for the vocals to be heard in a charming manner. I want all Bob's friends and fans, to not forget the Wailers (his band members). Blessed. Jah T. said dat.

From knowing Bob back in the seventies, I could see that he was a very special - pure and simple Rasta man, with a direction in life. Music was his rod, his lyrics were a double edge sword that won many battles for the people in captivity, plus taught the captives the meaning of slavery. His dream was to show the world who and what Rastafarian was all about. He said Rasta must unite and control this creation of Rasta ism, which was inspired by THE KING SELASSIE I.

Not to let it fall in the hands of the wicket! Which is what has happen already? I see the bigger heads making big profits from the KINGS MUSIC, while the singer and players on interments getting pennies. WHY? Bob inspiration still is alive and going strong, better knows! So live up- natty dread - no woman no cry - yes so much trouble in the world - so make we chant down Babylon - fight this licka trouble. We Africans must unite. Blessed One Love. Jah T. said dat.

We are all witness in this generation that Bob Marley was a man used by Creation to knit the human race together and bring us forward into the perfection of love. The work is given to those who will bestow the gift unto humanity and it's up to those who receive this gift, with understanding, to give it away to others. I give thanks...BeMore

Beautiful but Strange Geography
Glad to see that Bob, even in death, is still setting the world on fire with his music. But Betaniyah from Chile clocked it. I noticed it right away--no artists from either the Spanish Main or South America. And it was truly strange to see the celebration of a Jamaican's music with no Jamaican artists contributing.

Give Thanks and Praise
Beautiful. The messages of righteousness are eternal and universal. Seen.

"Life and Jah are one in the same. Jah is the gift of existence. I am in some way eternal, I will never be duplicated. The singularity of every man and woman is Jah's gift. What we struggle to make of it is our sole gift to Jah. The process of what that struggle becomes, in time, the Truth."

Seems to me here that Bob did spread a message of integration and living as one... accepting ourselves as different (religions, races, ideologies, nations, sexes...) but the same (human). So why do we separate ourselves through violence - hoping that we will all realize that it is our way that is right?

Bob Marley was certainly ahead of his time. He did so much during his short life. He is a true legend and a great treasure to Jamaica and the rest of the world. I really love his music.

Why should the people wonder anymore? It is said that Jesus last words was; I will go and prepare a place for I and I. Jamaica is where the Man with the long locks like the image of the Christ emerged. I and I know that Jamaica in time will have a Rastafari Government to clean out the invaders and free the chosen ones.

One perfect love

Bob Marley is truly one of God's finest creations. And a testament that Jamaica's greatest potential and still the most precious resource, is our people.
